Mirror Football introduces new iPhone app
Mobile market witnessed a new contender this week in the form of Mirrorfootball.co.uk that entered it with the launch of its new iPhone app.
Launched in August 2009, Mirrorfootball.co.uk is a standalone football website providing a continuous news service and exclusive daily opinions from some of the most proficient names in the genre.
The app launched with a one-off price of £1.19, is intended to make the Mirror’s specialist available to a new audience of iPhone users. It allows the users to personalize their homepage with a bookmark for the desired Premier League club. The additional benefits of the app include an extensive photo and video content, instant news service and live match-trackers.
Apart from gaining access to the live action and an up-to-the-minute news service, the users will have the provision of commenting on articles, circulating them among their friends and even publishing them on Twitter and Facebook.
On the launch of the new app, Rick Gleave, Head of Interactive and Mobile, Trinity Mirror, said that they were excited about the launch since it condensed their content into a more compatible form for use on iPhone or iPod touch. He also said that it offered users a level of interactivity that competitors’ apps simply couldn’t match.
